Application of Expressway Networked Electronic Toll Collection (ETC)

Publish Date:2021-04-21

Scheme Background

In 2015, the national expressway networked ETC system was officially launched. The implementation of ETC is an effective way to solve the congestion of highway toll stations and improve the efficiency of highway traffic. ETC is an important measure to promote transportation energy conservation and emission reduction and save land and management costs. It is the realistic need to adapt to the networked management of highways and achieve the overall benefit of road network. ETC is also an important carrier to vigorously promote the development of the "Four Transports". In order to give full play to the scale merit of ETC, the Ministry of Transport has organized the national ETC networking work.

XX Expressway Management Office is responsible for the construction and operation of networked ETC platform, network and data center of Tianjin Expressway. The networked ETC of Tianjin Expressway falls into three management modes, namely Tianjin Expressway Networked Toll Collection and Settlement Center, Tianjin Expressway sub-centers and Tianjin Expressway toll stations. The settlement center, segment sub-centers and toll stations have all adopt fault-tolerant servers, with the stability and security reaching 99.9999%.

Description of Scheme Value Points

1. The system stability of fault-tolerant server reaches 99.9999%; the system is designed for preventing downtime and data loss; online upgrade is supported to reduce planned downtime; customized management interface in Chinese is easy to operate; centralized management and O&M are supported.

2. High availability makes the maintenance similar to that of a stand-alone system, with no professional training required; mainstream windows/Linux systems are supported, redundant power supply and customized mailing functions are available, which is convenient for timely maintenance.

3. Load balancing maximizes the utilization of hardware resources.

4. Virtualization is supported, so as to facilitate the subsequent deployment and expansion of various application systems.

5. The highly integrated networked toll collection data center can integrate and deploy various key production systems, management systems or traditional IT applications, including SQL, MAIL/WEB/DNS DOMAIN, finance, CRM, supply chain, EHR, etc.

6. Fault-tolerant server hardware and system software are the most cost-efficient.
