Integrated Monitoring Platform of Expressway Tunnels

Publish Date:2021-04-21

Scheme Background

                                       Smart Tunnel Monitoring System of Kaili-Leishan Expressway in Guizhou

The project is about 21.886Km in length, covering the service area, traffic area and 3 toll stations. The main line adopts the standard of four-lane expressway, with a design speed of 80km/h. The integral sub-grade width is 21.5m and the separated sub-grade width is 11.25m, with a design load of Highway Grade I. The clear width of tunnel is 10.25m.

The main electromechanical engineering works of this project consist of the monitoring, communication and charging systems of the whole line and the tunnel electromechanical engineering system (including tunnel ventilation, lighting, power supply and distribution, monitoring, fire alarm, fire fighting, etc.).

This project is characterized by frequent rains and snows, so the humid climate is a big challenge for the protection and performance of equipment.

Scheme Topology

Description of Scheme Value Points

1. Selected industrial-grade chips and components with a highly reliable industrial design are used to adapt to the harsh environment of tunnel site with high temperature, strong vibration and electromagnetic interference, so as to ensure the stable and reliable operation of controllers, industrial Ethernet switches and fault-tolerant servers in all electromechanical equipment areas covered by the tunnel monitoring system;

 2. Proprietary domestic software and hardware are safe and controllable. System security prevention strategy is implemented to prevent unauthorized access of external equipment and ensure fault isolation;

3. Fault prevention and handling: self-recovering redundant network and data processing, rapid system maintenance and diagnosis, and comprehensive system monitoring and management guarantee quick system recovery and replacement, so as to realize smooth upgrade and retrofit of tunnel supervisory control system;

4. The expressway tunnel monitoring system solution has been applied to about 30 expressways nationwide, demonstrating high operability and overall cost performance;

5. A dozen of branches or offices have been across the country to provide localized and customized services, and timely respond to customer demands.
